Attend our events
There is a strong need in recent times especially, to find and keep a sense of community. We all need something to look forward to and the AGM and Reunions help us to retain strong bonds, connections and maintain traditions.
To date our combined AGM and Reunion weekends have taken the Committee and our Membership to some wonderful locations around the UK, alternating between north and south to make the opportunity accessible to more of our membership base.
Our Social Secretary is supported by our selected partners, who manage our requirements leading up to and throughout the event.

Events & partners
We envisage that in time, support organisations specialising in reunions and gatherings within the Armed Forces Community will re-emerge, offering new partner arrangements for future events.
Our Social Secretary will continue to monitor developments and through the Association provide any future updates: events and partner alignments in SITREP, Notice Board and/or the Events Planner.
The future landscape of events remain forefront of our mind in order to bring our community safely back together. We look forward to it!

Reunion & AGM
Our events span across 2, 3 and 4 days in accordance with availability and budget. In recent years we have enjoyed country and coastal locations.
In 2018 we visited Harrogate and explored the fine tea shops, quaint village and scenery. In 2019 we headed for Bournemouth and spent afternoons on beaches and boat trips. In 2020/21 deferred to 2023 and enjoyed the birthplace of William Shakespeare in leafy Stratford-on-Avon.
2024 offered the spectacular Chatham Dockyard and in 2025 we are delighted to offer the central location of Warwick near to Warwick Castle and the rural beauty of the Cotswolds. Please login and head to events to book your place.
SLOPS - the online shop
We currently offer a small selection of Association branded items to purchase and membership offers.
With the appointment of the new Jack Dusty into the role, we are looking to expand our merchandise offering and welcome feedback and ideas.
Who is Jack Dusty? The term originates from the 1800’s when ships purser’s assistants were known as “Jack in the dust”, the dust from the bread and flour room.
We keep the tradition of Jack Dusty sailing.

We publish, new, regular and community updates in “our news” section, where we are equally pleased to hear from you about latest developments, naval and policing topics or related experiences.
We provide our members with a combination of news, dits, photos and reflections of Royal Navy and branch life submitted by veteran and serving members, for inclusion in the Association Journal online, Members Stories, Dits and Fact Sheets online.
There is a community member led members Forum and various Groups we can connect you with as part of our wider community.
Regional reach out
Whilst a close knit unit, we often find that our members are located across the UK and abroad.
We aim to keep the communication flowing using the website and forum and through our events and communications.
We also encourage across the regions that we take the time to keep one another in mind, reach out, remember your Oppo’s and Shipmates and encourage each other to get involved.
Share to showcase
Share a good news story, update us or share a piece of history, of general interest or personal to you.
Our aim is to continue to build, communicate and pass on the baton of knowledge and experiences of the Specialty in which you have served or experienced through family and friends.
Tell us what’s going on in and around your community and we will select the topic and best channel where to showcase your topic for the benefit or visitors and members.

Social media groups
There is also a private, independently run Facebook group, apart but closely aligned with the Association:
The Royal Navy Police and Regulating Branch Museum Facebook Group and a Museum Facebook group.
Both groups are accessible subject to validation of service details and support good social contact and friendship, in addition to capturing and maintaining the rich history of the branch, sharing memorabilia, memories and items of historical interest and importance.
The forum
Access to the Association Forum is for members only to keep in touch even when on the move, to engage in discussion with shipmates or members.
Once you have set up your online account, which is for security reasons and is accessible using an individual password, you will only need to login, sign in once to access the members area and forum which sits within the members area.
The layout and format of the forum retains a certain familiarity in terms of consistency of layout and features of the old system, to make it more widely accessible and a member led community access point for those based internationally especially.

Become a member
Find the level of membership relevant to you connections and area of interest, whether that’s via a serving member, a veteran, family member, friend or a researcher with an interest in our Specialty, current or historic.
There are 3 main levels of membership available to purchase: Full, Associate or Overseas membership summarised below with more information made available during the registration and validation process.
Widow and Widower memberships are a status membership. When a member crosses the bar, their membership is immediately transferred to their spouse or civil partner.
The former Lifetime membership is no longer available but those with existing memberships retain Lifetime membership rights. Honorary memberships are by Association appointment and executive decision.
Full
Criteria
- Full membership is open to retired or serving members of the Royal Navy Police or Regulating Branch.
Associate
Criteria
- Associate membership is open to close friends and family of retired or serving members, and to Reserves, Cadets or with special interests, military historical, or for research.
Overseas
Criteria
- Overseas membership is open to retired or serving members of the Royal Navy Police or Regulating Branch who live outside of the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Isles.
Widows & Widower
Criteria
- Full membership is transferred to widows, widowers or civil partners following the bereavement of their spouse or partner.*
Honorary
Criteria
- Honorary membership is a nominated membership, offered at the discretion of and by approval of the Association committee.
Lifetime*
Criteria
- The Life membership product is now discontinued – January 2020 *note membership is for existing members only, both serving or veterans of the Royal Navy Police or Regulating Branch.
Register to join
The first stage of the process is to register for membership by clicking Join Us below which will take you directly to the registration section where you will be requested to select a membership level and complete a registration form.
If you wish to register later then simply click on the Join Us tab in the main tab bar. If you wish to register but do not have an email address, manual options are available. Please contact a member of the Association Committee or oppo who will connect you to the Membership Manager by phone.
There are several payment options available to you, from standing orders to immediate payment online with links to GDPR, Privacy Policy, and usual Terms and Conditions.
Once membership is confirmed you will receive a systems generated confirmation, followed by instructions to finalise your online account and to obtain your Association pin. If in doubt, please reach out.
All new members will be contacted by the Chairman to welcome you to the Association.
