Chairman's review of the Southwick Park Armistice Day Service and Parade
Once again I had the privilege of attending, and parading the Association Standard at the annual Remembrance Parade at the Defence Policing College, Southwick Park on Tuesday 11th November 2025, to honour the fallen from all conflicts since 1914. Training classes representing all service elements of the college were paraded in front of the three service cenotaphs straddling the front of the Church, and fronted by numerous senior officers and VIP’s who were laying wreaths.
I have paraded the Association standard at the parade for ten years, and on each occasion except one, was the only standard parading! However this year there were five standards paraded including two from the Royal Military Police Association and two from the Royal Air Force Police Association.
Particularly special was the fact that all three Service Provost Marshals were on parade to lay a wreath. Accompanying Commander Lizzie Grant, Provost Marshal (Navy), was Brigadier Sarah Pringle-Smith, Provost Marshal (Army) Commander 1 Military Police Brigade, and Group Captain Samantha Bunn, Provost Marshal (RAF) and Commander Air Security Force.
The Association wreath was laid by our President David Lodrick, and other Association members in attendance were Angie and Terry McCutcheon, and Glen Nevers along with several of our currently serving branch members. On completion, a full buffet lunch was provided for all.
