60 Mile Cycle for Social Bite
The spirit of supporting a worthy cause and giving back to others, carries forward in many of our lives long after our service is completed. Whether it is a sporting event or baking or volunteering, each has it’s value.
Today’s post highlights a community initiative “The Social Bite Village” and the physical and virtual challenges set to raise money for such a worthy cause. A few words from our very own Hearsay Herald Editor who participated. BZ Lawrence.
“I took part in a Break the Cycle ride from Edinburgh to Glasgow on Sunday 5th September to raise funds for Social Bite who are planning to build new homes in Glasgow and London for the Homeless”.
This worthwhile cause enables people to have the support system round them that helps get them to a place where they have dignity, pride and a place to live and build their lives back.
Every homeless person has a story to tell and unfortunately many of them are ex-service.
The charity which was supported by Sir Chris Hoy raised £750,000 on the day with over 500 riders doing the miles.
