We are a community which transitions across many areas helping to support our Serving Members and Veterans, through events, organised both within the Association or by our individual members with the same common aim.
The new Community News section will regularly showcase some of the recent activities and those planned for future.
The first showcase is our very own Association Serving Member Representative Steve and Museum Curator, William, showing their support for our friends at Blind Veterans UK by participating in the annual fundraising event motorcycle ride from Moreton-In-Marsh to Brighton with refreshment stops at The Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop and Southwick Park. Whilst at Southwick park the riders were treated to a splendid talk on the D Day Map Room by William before continuing onward to Brighton. During the stop at Southwick Park a further £150 was added to the charity bucket following the map room brief and from sales of tea and coffee – a great day was had by all. If you are interested in taking part in this annual ride, then please contact Steve Robertson for more information.
Our second showcase, nominated by our Welfare Officer and Padre Michael is SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity, who have been hard at work to continue to provide practical, emotional and financial support to the Forces family during the Covid–19 pandemic and lockdown.
SSAFA through their values document an understanding of the unique demands of service life, whether on UK soil or overseas. Support is available for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten.
We look forward to hearing about your member activities send to community@rba93.com and CC: onlinesupport@rba93.com. Please remember to add the enquiry in the header (e.g. museum, member stories, historical, news, welfare). This information will be sent to the appropriate committee member to follow up on and keep all parties informed.
