Update;
My father passed the bar on February 22 1999 in Botley, Hampshire.
He was awarded the MBE in 1975, related to the evacuation of Cyprus the year before and the MSM and LSM.
Harry was an RPO with Joe Wamsley in the Discipline office of RNB Portsmouth, in 1962, for my sins, which is another story, my job was to keep the office, desk clean, neat and natty, and make coffee for them. One day Harry and Joe said to me you would make a good Regulator, and explained the Branch to me. After a short while I rejoined my ship HMS Crossbow, so being 20 I just qualified to slap in a Request From, much to my pleasure I was accepted and off I went to the old Reg School on the foreshore of Whale Island.
RIP Harry
