“Dear Members,
Many of you served with and were still in contact through the Association with former WOMAA Jim MacPherson who had relocated to Australia many years ago. You will be aware that Jim regularly corresponded with old pals and was the ‘King of the dits’. Jim sent me a note yesterday to inform me that his lack of such correspondence this year is due to the fact that he has been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and heart issues. He says that he is at peace with his situation but recognises that there may not be long before he embarks on his last big voyage and wished me to inform the membership of his circumstances, offering his best wishes to all members. Please keep Jim in your thoughts and prayers shipmates.”
