- It is with great sadness to confirm that His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband of 73 years, died at Windsor Castle on 9th April 2021. He was 99 years of age.
- To mark the death of the Queen’s husband, saluting batteries will begin firing 41 rounds at one round every minute from 12 noon on Saturday in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Commonwealth cities.
- The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral and celebration of his life is confirmed to take place on 17 April 2021 at Windsor Castle .
