Carried forward: I thought Valerie was “God” because she was my Dauntless Division Senior Rate when I joined Theseus 260 Division in 1976. She was special because she was “an RPO Wren” not just a “PO Wren” like the other Divisions had! RIP RPO Wren Brookes, as never allowed to call her by her first name at the time – Anne Hedges
