David S C Lodrick MBE – President

David served in the Royal Navy from 1963 to 1995 and served in the Supply and Secretariat Branch. He transferred to the Regulating Branch in 1970. David had the idea and formed the original Regulating Branch Association in 1986 while serving as the Assistant Naval Provost Marshal in HMS NELSON. This organisation was a precursor to the now fully established and extremely successful Regulating Branch and Royal Navy Police Association.

John Masterson – Honorary Vice President and Reunion Co-ordinator

John joined the branch in 1980. He was subsequently sent to the RNPHQ at HMS Nelson where he stayed until joining HMS Birmingham at short notice, to sail to the Falkland Islands, when war broke out in 1982. John also served in HMS Collingwood, HMS Daedalus, RNPHQ Plymouth, HMS Excellent and HMS Nelson.

Nigel J Carpenter FSyl RISC LT (X)(REG) Royal Navy Rtd – Chairman

Nigel Carpenter joined the Branch in 1972 and was commissioned as a Provost Officer in 1980. On retirement in 1989 he embarked on a second career in commercial security and served in a variety of regional, and global positions with major corporates including Mobil Oil, British Gas plc, Amoco Corporation, BP plc and Amec plc. He now operates as an Independent Security Consultant, providing professional security support services to numerous corporate clients globally.

Commander Lizzie Grant – Provost Marshal Navy Chair of the RB & RNP Museum

Commander Lizzie Grant joined the Royal Navy in 2002 as a Marine Engineering Mechanic serving in HMS ALBION as her first ship. Transferring to the Regulating Branch in 2005 which became the RN Police in 2007, she has been employed as a rating across various policing disciplines including at sea, overseas, and with the Special Investigations Branch. Commissioning in 2012 she has led teams in general policing, special investigations, other specialist areas and supported various partner agencies overseas with short term policing roles.

Steven Robertson – Museum Curator

Steven Robertson is a former serving WO1(Police), he has been a member of the Regulating Branch & Royal Navy Police Association since 1996 and was appointed to the committee as the serving member’s representative in 2011, recently appointed to take over as Museum Curator at the 2025 AGM supported by Willie Dick as he retires from the role.

William G Dick – Former Museum Curator – Retired

William G.Dick, joined the Royal Navy in 1971 at the age of 23, as a Cook. In 1978, William joined the Regulating Branch serving on HMS Antrim as a Leading Regulator, followed by HMS Hodgeston, HMS Jersey as a Regulating Petty Officer and, HMS Birmingham as a Master-at-Arms.

Steve Holmes – Merchandise and Social Media Support

Steve joined the Royal Navy in Sep 97 aged 22 as a Warfare Rating.  On completion of Basic Training at HMS Raleigh, he moved onto HMS Dryad, graduating to join his first ship, a Type 42, Batch 3 Destroyer, HMS YORK conducting Maritime Interdiction Operations in the Northern Arabian Gulf and a tour of the Far East, he also deployed to the Arabian Gulf and South America on board HMS EDINBURGH.
